Above all, that the conflict does not escalate beyond repair.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The missile strikes throughout the region have, he says, left the population in shock. PAOLO MARTINELLI<\/strong><br>Apostolic Vicar of Southern Arabia<br><em>After the attacks began, I immediately wrote a letter to our faithful, inviting them first of all to remain calm, to continue entrusting themselves to the Lord, and above all, to stay united in prayer.<\/em><br><em>Because I believe that feeling isolated, alone, is the most dangerous thing.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Precise figures are not yet known, but the conflict has already resulted in hundreds of deaths and injuries across different countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The airspace over the Middle East has been closed, and military escalations have already begun to affect international markets and the global economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since Iran is one of the world\u2019s largest oil producers, the most notable economic consequence is of course the rise in oil prices. The Strait of Hormuz, through which nearly 20% of the world\u2019s oil passes, is on constant alert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Middle Eastern Christians are also alert, and even now have an important role to play in the Church at this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>MONS. There may be some fear of going out. But I know that our priests also get involved and make themselves available to lead the prayers. In these ways, which are still ways to maintain connection, we can experience that we are together and not isolated.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Apostolic Vicar shares that the words the pope spoke at the beginning of the conflict have been very important to Christians in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>MONS.
