For this reason, the Pope, from St. Peter\u2019s Square, once again issued a strong appeal calling for urgent peace.<br><br><strong>POPE LEO XIV<\/strong><br><em>Let the hostilities cease! Let paths of dialogue be reopened! Violence will never be able to bring about the justice, stability, and peace that people hope for.<br><br><\/em>On <strong>Laetare Sunday, which<\/strong> celebrates the fourth Sunday of Lent, the Pope recalled that dialogue is the only tool authorities have to put an end to the suffering of the Lebanese people.<br><br><br><strong>POPE LEO XIV<\/strong><br><em>I hope that paths of dialogue may open that can support the country\u2019s authorities in implementing lasting solutions to the serious crisis underway, for the common good of all the Lebanese.<br><br><\/em>17 days have passed since the beginning of the conflict in Iran. It is estimated that more than 3,000 people have already lost their lives across the various countries involved. The attacks and crossfire have continued without pause and are even increasing in Lebanon.
