At the Wednesday general audience, Pope Leo XIV expressed his satisfaction with the latest agreement between the United States and Iran, following weeks of tensions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
POPE LEO XIV<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I welcome with satisfaction the achievement of an agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America, which will be signed next Friday. As the result of patient work of dialogue and negotiation, I express my gratitude to the countries involved for making this possible.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n The pope then dedicated part of the general audience to his trip to Spain, a customary practice after any papal trip. He shared several reflections about the six-day Spanish tour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Pope Leo highlighted Spain's strong historical Catholic roots. This was by no means something to be taken for granted, and it deserves reflection.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n He also reflected on the final stage of his trip: the Canary Islands, a destination he has described as part of Pope Francis\u2019s spiritual legacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n POPE LEO XIV<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n We know that the phenomenon of migration is complex and requires comprehensive and coordinated plans of action.
