More than 9,000 tons have already been distributed, while the remainder is being held in warehouses for the next stages of the emergency.

A nationwide network of dioceses and parishes, have delivered more than 5,000 food packages, 3,000 hygiene kits, 8,000 family relief kits and over 73,000 units of medical supplies.

Among the dioceses leading the response is La Guaira, situated in one of the regions hit hardest by the disaster.

RAFAEL MONTILLA
Director of Communications at La Guaira

Here in my parish we have a collection center for donations from Caritas, We have received donations from NGOs, foundations, and ordinary people who collected supplies in their own communities and brought them here to be distributed.

People have also organized themselves to bring food and prepare meals for rescuers and for families who lost everything.
