This is an initial contribution, similar to the aid the Vatican provided after the earthquake in Venezuela in June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The funds, which were sent through the Dicastery for the Service of Charity, will be allocated to emergency relief efforts in the hardest-hit dioceses. They will be administered by the Pastoral-Caritas office of the Bishops' Conference, which expressed its gratitude for the pontiff\u2019s assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The Colombian Bishops' Conference expressed its deep gratitude for this new gesture of closeness from Pope Leo XIV and for the solidarity of the universal Church with the Colombian people. In communion with the Holy Father, reaffirms its commitment to support affected families and communities, strengthen networks of solidarity, and, through the Church's pastoral and charitable work, help those most in need.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The mission is to provide emergency assistance to those hit hardest by the August 10<sup>th<\/sup> earthquake, which measured 7.4 in magnitude.
