Speaking to vacationers and residents, he reflected on God\u2019s infinite love for each one of us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>POPE LEO XIV<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Jesus reveals, then, that only love can save. The love God has shown us by becoming man, dying and rising again for us, and, in response, the love with which we too humbly offer ourselves to Him and to our brothers and sisters: in the faithful constancy of charity each day and in the most extraordinary acts, even martyrdom, which sadly still happens today to many Christians in different parts of the world.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the end of his homily, he turned to the evening\u2019s honoree, the Virgin Mary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>POPE LEO XIV<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Let us then join Jesus and Mary tonight, the Son and the Mother, so that, united, not only on the lake but on all the nights of the world, we may be a serene reflection of God\u2019s presence and an irresistible echo of his love that calls us to love.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bronze Our Lady of the Lake statue was carried through the streets, down to the shore of Lake Albano, and onto a boat, where Pope Leo also boarded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some faithful followed from their sailboats and canoes, while most walked along the lakeside road. As in any procession, there were moments of guided prayer and music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Residents of Castel Gandolfo, summer visitors and others who had come to town that day gathered to watch the pope pass by.
