<\/strong>It takes time to grieve, to say goodbye, to rebuild, to pray, and to remember. And for 25 years, that is exactly what we have been doing. At first, we attended funerals, countless funerals. We comforted grieving families and friends.We gathered for masses and prayer services. We cared for first responders and survivors.<\/em>The archbishop visited Ground Zero and the firehouse that lost 15 of its members on 9\/11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/strong>Even 25 years later, the grieving continues. A tragedy of this magnitude never completely disappears. There are still tears, sadness. questions.Even now, there are families and first responders who continue to carry the physical and emotional effects of that day.
<\/em>The memory of 9\/11 also lives on within the Catholic Church in New York. Two of its cemeteries are the final resting place for 77 victims of the attacks.
At each memorial, the cathedral becomes a gathering place for Catholics, Muslims, Protestants and Jews.

<\/strong>Here we stand together, we pray together. We listen together and we seek the common good together. One of the lessons of the last 25 years is that we need each other.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
