POPE LEO XIV<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n In Savannah, Georgia, in the United States of America, Pedro de Corpa and four companions, members of the Order of Friars Minor, were beatified. They were killed out of hatred for the faith in 1597. Originally from Spain, they generously answered the Lord\u2019s call to evangelize the peoples of America, even giving their lives.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n The pope also addressed the humanitarian situation in Ukraine, following an operation to evacuate civilians from Oleshky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The city had previously made headlines when the pope called Putin from the hospital after his cancer surgery to discuss the situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n POPE LEO XIV<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n In recent days, humanitarian efforts have been carried out to help the civilian population in the city of Oleshky.
