(VIDEO ONLY) At the end of the Mass, the most important moment of the ceremony occurred: the opening of the Holy Door, and with it the opening of the Jubilee of Mercy. The Pope Emeritus was also present. Pope Francis opened the Holy Door in St. Peter's Basilica and collected himself for a few moments. Afterward, the ceremony concluded inside the basilica with cardinals, bishops, and other concelebrants.
He said a few moments before that "to pass through the Holy Door means to rediscover the infinite mercy of the Father who welcomes everyone and goes out personally to encounter each of them.”
