New film explains how Our Lady of Guadalupe converted millions to Christianity

2015-12-12

In 1531, the image of Our Lady appeared on the cloak of an indigenous convert named Juan Diego, who experienced a series of visions of the Virgin Mary over several days. There is no scientific explanation for the image's existence.

Our Lady of Guadalupe is one of the Catholic Church's greatest icons. While many people recognize her, fewer are aware of just how great her impact has been, especially in the Americas.

A new documentary about Our Lady sets out to explain how the icon led millions of people to convert to Christianity.
