Pope Francis: No people is criminal and no religion is terrorist

February 17, 2017. Pope Francis has sent an important message to the Meetings of Popular Movements that is taking place in Modesto (California). The pope denounces the "moral blindness of this indifference”: "under the guise of what is politically correct or ideologically fashionable, one looks at those who suffer without touching them. But they are televised live; they are talked about in euphemisms and with apparent tolerance, but nothing is done systematically to heal the social wounds or to confront the structures that leave so many brothers and sisters by the wayside”.

Pope meets with group of albino children before General Audience

2014-09-11

Before Wednesday's General Audience, Pope Francis met with a group of albinos at the Paul VI Audience Hall. The Pope greeted each person one by one.

After greeting them, he thanked them for their visit and asked for their prayers.

POPE FRANCIS
"I thank you for your visit. Thank you very much. I ask you to pray for me, please do not forget. So that I can go forward with my work. I will pray for all of you and for the children.”

He then led them in praying the Hail Mary and gave them his blessing before heading out to St. Peter's Square for the General Audience.

The plight of albinos, who are often victims of discrimination or even violence, is an issue close to the Pope's heart.

He recently lent his voice for the social audiobook "Ombra Bianca” (White Shadow), an initiative launched to aid albinos in Africa.
