Two drones show a side of the Sanctuary of Saint Ignatius that's never been seen before

The organ, the view from the dome, or the entrance. They've never quite been seen like this before. The Basilica of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, along with his birth place in Spain's Basque Country, are now being viewed in a unique way.

Two drones recorded new videos that allow one to admire the natural beauty of the Urola valley, along with the cultural and historical wealth of the sanctuary.

Anyone can see the footage at the sanctuary's website, santuariodeloyola.org. In addition to the drone videos, it also includes other photos from the sanctuary: the birth place, the basilica, the spiritual center, a shelter, and a library.

Their goal is to bring people closer to Ignatian spirituality and to create a place of encounter and welcome. That's why the new website is available in Spanish, French, English, and Basque.

Construction of the basilica, with its Baroque style, began in 1689. It was designed by Italian architect Carlo Fontana. And now the whole world can see views of his creation he never could have imagined.
