EU Ambassador presents credentials to Pope Francis


The European Union Ambassador to the Holy See presented his credentials to Pope Francis in a private meeting.

Jan Tombinski greeted the pope with a bow and a kiss to the hand. 

After he presented his credentials, he had prepared a speech for Pope Francis. 

"With the most respectful consideration from the president of the European institutions..."

The two took their traditional photo and then sat and talked in a more unusual manner. 

Previously, Tombinski was the Polish Ambassador to France and most recently, European Union Ambassador to Ukraine.
