Rome's Olympic Stadium to host Pope and over 50,000 Charismatic Renewal members

The Pope has mentioned at Casa Santa Marta that Christians often forget about the Holy Spirit. POPE FRANCIS "The great forgotten in our lives! I would like to ask you, but I will not, eh, to ask you: how many of you pray to the Holy Spirit? Don't raise your hands... He is the great forgotten, the great forgotten.â?  But it'll be difficult for that to happen on Sunday. Thousands of people from the Catholic Charismatic Renewal will celebrate their annual gathering at Rome's Olympic Stadium. Pope Francis will join them, but the spotlight will be on Holy Spirit. MSGR. FILIPPO IANNONE Diocese of Rome "The Holy Spirit is the leading character in the lives of the Church, because thanks to actions from the Spirit, the Lord is present in the Church. And effectively, as the Pope tells us, we need to rekindle our faith in Him continuously.â? The gathering will take place over two days, from June 1-2, and has exceeded all expectations. In fact, they reached full capacity at Rome's Olympic Stadium, more than a month ago. SALVATORE MARTINEZ President, Charismatic Renewal in Italy "We will have 52,000 people from about 52 countries, the majority are Italian. We have delegates from charismatic communities that are not a part of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, as well as delegates from evangelical pentecostal groups from other countries, that come from other countries to live out this moment of faith and communion, this strong spiritual experience.â? The Pope will visit the stadium on Sunday, June 1st. He will arrive at about 5PM, to take part in a charismatic praise and worship ritual, that includes prayer and testimonies. The Catholic Charismatic Renewal movement began in the United States at the end of the 1960's. Today, it's found in all corners of the globe.
