Pope Francis welcomed two new Ambassadors to the Vatican. ;

From Germany 59 year old Annette Schavan presented her credentials to Pope Francis. She served as a minister of culture under the government of Angela Merkel, but she left in 2013 after being accused of plagiarizing her thesis. ;

The second ambassador is Tamar Grdzelidze from Georgia. She has a doctorate degree in Philosophy and Theology from Oxford University. She has also authored several books on ecumenism. ;

The Holy See and Georgia established diplomatic relations in 1992. ;
