The Pope to entrepreneurs: The fight against poverty is not an economic, but a moral problem

The Pope convened with Centesimus Annus Pro Pontifice Foundation who held a conference at the Vatican about combating poverty through business. This year their focus was on the refugee crisis. "Today, in the economic and financial field, many authorities claim an ethical reconstruction. This is our challenge." POPE FRANCIS "The refugee crisis, whose proportions are growing daily, is one especially close to my heart. In my recent visit to Lesbos, I witnessed heartrending scenes of human suffering, especially on the part of families and children. The Pope said that in addition to material aid, above all, an international policy response is necessary. He explained that the fight against poverty is not only an economic problem, but a moral problem. Therefore, the Pope welcomed the initiative of the Foundation to unite entrepreneurs around the world to achieve an economic culture and business with respect to human dignity. AC/MB CTV VM -BN Up:AC
