After Pentecost Mass, the pope prayed the Regina Coeli in St. Peter's Square in front of thousands of pilgrims with open umbrellas to withstand the heat.

This was the last Regina Coeli of the year, since after Pentecost, the pope returns to praying the Angelus.

Pope Francis wanted to remember all the victims of terrorism after the attacks that had taken place in London a few hours earlier.

POPE FRANCIS
'May the Spirit give peace to the whole world and heal the wounds of war and terrorism.'

Pope Francis explained the importance of the work of missionaries in the Church and he also recalled the 50th anniversary of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal that united more than 30,000 people in Rome.

POPE FRANCIS
'May the Holy Spirit sustain the mission of the Church throughout the world and give strength to all missionaries and missionaries of the Gospel. Let us now invoke the maternal intercession of the Virgin Mary. May she give us the grace to be strongly encouraged by the Holy Spirit, to bear witness to Christ with evangelical frankness.'

Before leaving, the pope greeted each of the cardinals, one-by-one. Then he climbed in the popemobile and waved to all the pilgrims for the last time.
