Hundreds of migrants who were trying to reach Italy are feared dead. ;
According to the latest reports, a boat carrying 700 immigrants took off from Libya and was making its way through the Mediterranean. ;
The boat was unstable. Rescue teams were called in, but in their desperation, it seems too many migrants rushed to one corner of the boat, which led the vessel to capsize. ;
About 300 people were rescued on Wednesday August 5th, ;but the next morning, rescue teams were still trying to find hundreds of possible survivors. ;
Pope Francis has constantly reiterated the need for the international community to help manage this immigration crisis and prevent deaths. ;
In 2015 alone, an estimated 2,000 migrants have drowned in the Mediterranean. It's an increase when compared to last year, when an estimated 1,607 migrants were reported dead. ;
