Pope Francis rode into Bahrain's national stadium in the popemobile to greet the crowd of 30,000 gathered there for Mass.
It is the second time a pope has celebrated Mass on the Arabian peninsula, Pope Francis become the first pope to do so in the United Arab Emirates in 2019.
