At the gathering of Pope Leo XIV with priests from around the world, this happened. A Spanish priest asked to come up to the stage. And Pope Leo, without hesitation, asked the audience: “You’re one for all, because after this the others will want to. Do you agree? One for all.”
The priest gave the Pope artwork of the Virgin Mary from Castellón, a Spanish city that Pope Leo visited several times when he was Prior General of the Augustinians.
The priest was carrying two zucchetti and told Pope Leo: “Bless whichever one you prefer.” The Pope put one on and then returned it to him. However, the best moment came when the priest asked Pope Leo: “Would you give me a hug, Your Holiness, please?”
