Imagine 73 football fields put together. That’s roughly the size of the over 500,000 square meters of open space at Tor Vergata, the site where the main events of the Jubilee for Young People will take place.
Just look at the expected number of participants—it’ll be like seeing five stadiums filled with fans.
So take note of the scale of this massive spiritual event: half a million young people will arrive in the Eternal City to take part, coming from all continents. Out of the approximately 193 countries in the world, 146 will be represented at this Jubilee.

July 28, Monday, at least half a million young people will begin arriving in the city. That may not sound like much at first, but when added to the 3 million already present daily in Rome and the 2 million more who come for work, it’s a very significant number.
Additionally, the Vatican confirmed that young people will be traveling to Rome from conflict zones such as Ukraine, Lebanon, Syria, and South Sudan.
Each pilgrim will receive the kit shown on screen, which includes items for exchange, as well as a cap and water bottle.
To help everyone stay informed and avoid getting lost, the city has launched a mobile app.

We will also have our artificial intelligence app “Giulia” available in 80 languages to provide all possible information about the Jubilee, along with many Vatican channels, the Vadevecum, WhatsApp, and many other tools.
Security is one of the biggest concerns at an event of this scale. And while risks can never be entirely ruled out, the Ministry of the Interior assures that every possible precaution has been taken.

This is an event that, due to its significance, requires exceptional security measures. I want to make it clear that we have no specific threat indicators at this time, but the international context, existing tensions, the scale, the beauty, and the very meaning of the event compel us to remain highly vigilant.
So much so, that security efforts for the event have been ramped up significantly. For example, there will be around 3,000 civil protection volunteers, 500 from the Holy See, and 4,000 local police officers, as well as national police and firefighters.
All of this will take place in Tor Vergata on August 2 and 3, but before that, Rome will host other events. On August 1, for example, there will be a penitential day at the Circus Maximus, where around 1,000 priests will be available for confession.
Within this Youth Jubilee, there’s a unique addition. The Vatican is keeping up with the latest technology and social trends, so they’ve organized a special event just for influencers. So, even if you can’t travel to Rome, you’ll be able to follow this major event with just a click.
