Pope Leo XIV asked for prayers for a Spanish pilgrim before a crowd of one million young people during the prayer vigil at Tor Vergata.

I would like to ask for your prayers for another friend; a young Spanish boy, Ignacio Gonzálvez, who has been admitted to the “Bambino Gesù” hospital. Let us pray for him, for his health.
However, for the Pope, words were not enough. He decided to personally visit the 15-year-old boy at the 'Bambino Gesù' pediatric hospital, which belongs to the Vatican.
No images were released from the encounter, but what is known is that Pope Leo spent about half an hour with the boy, who was sedated, and with his family. They prayed together, and he gave them his blessing. Later, the Pope visited other patients in the oncology ward.
Ignacio is from Murcia, Spain, and he came to Rome with his Neocatechumenal Way community for the Jubilee. He experienced chest pain, which led to his hospitalization. He is suffering from a severe lymphoma affecting his airways.
