This was the atmosphere on Wednesday in St. Peter’s Square. Lots of Mexican music to liven up the general audience…

Look at this sweet moment with a child, while in the background the faithful were shouting “Chiclayo”…

Of course… Cielito Lindo had to be heard in St. Peter’s Square…

The Pope continued with his catechesis on Jesus. This time, he reflected on the preparation for Easter.

At the end, Pope Leo remembered the 80th anniversary of the bombings of the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
POPE LEO XIV
Today marks the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombing of the Japanese city of Hiroshima. And in three days, we will remember Nagasaki. I want to assure my prayers for all those who suffered its physical, psychological, and social effects. Despite the passing of the years, those tragic events remain a universal warning against the devastation caused by wars, and in particular, by nuclear weapons.

At the end, Pope Leo XIV gave his blessing to all those present. Many of them were pilgrims still in Rome after the Jubilee of Young People.
