Following the Youth Jubilee in Tor Vergata, unused food from the lunch boxes was donated to the needy. This initiative, promoted by the Dicastery for Evangelization, seeks to combat the throwaway culture with a gesture of solidarity.
The products were distributed through the diocesan Caritas group of Rome, which distributes them to soup kitchens, religious congregations, and other organizations that serve people in need.
This is not the first time the Vatican has made this type of gesture. For example, Pope Francis was seen on many occasions with people in need.
