The Catholic Church has spoken out against Israel's offensive in Gaza. In a statement released by the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, Cardinal Pizzaballa noted that:
There is no reason to justify the deliberate and forcible mass displacement of civilians.
He did not publish the statement alone. He signed it alongside the Greek Orthodox patriarch.
The pastor of the only Catholic church in Gaza, who also suffered the Israeli bombing, has not remained silent either.
Gabriel Romanelli noted that the situation among the refugees in the parish is so critical that it is impossible to leave.
