On the day of the memorial of Saint Augustine of Hippo, the Augustinians of the Province of Saint Thomas of Villanova released a video message from Pope Leo.
In it, the religious from the United States presented him with the Saint Augustine Medal.
The presentation of this insignia took place in Castel Gandolfo. This is no coincidence. The parish of this citadel is dedicated to Saint Thomas of Villanova.
The video they released is accompanied by a message from the pontiff. Pope Leo acknowledges what Augustinian spirituality has contributed to his personality. He also has words for his fellow Augustinians.

So much of who I am I owe to the spirit and the teachings of Saint Augustine and I am grateful to all of you for all the many ways your lives
exhibit a deep commitment to the values of “veritas, unitas, caritas”.
Pope Leo expressed his gratitude for this memory. He also thanked the order for all the work it does.
