This is Valeria Vargas Valverde, a young Costa Rican woman who, through the intercession of Carlo Acutis, was saved from a head injury she suffered in 2022 after a bicycle accident in Florence, the city where she was studying.
It was the young woman's mother who traveled from Florence to Assisi to pray at Carlo Acutis's tomb. During the canonization, Valeria was one of those in charge of reading the petitions in Spanish.
