Rome woke up that morning cloudy and drenched, but despite the rainy weather, the faithful once again attended the general audience as on any other day, this time, with umbrellas in hand.

Despite the storm, the Pontiff also took his traditional ride in the Popemobile and blessed the children brought to him, take a look at this touching moment:

Pope Leo XIV thanked everyone for their presence and began the weekly catechesis. He reflected on the cry Jesus let out at the moment of His death. He said it was not a cry of reproach, but a cry of supplication.

LEO XIV
Dear brothers and sisters: good morning! And thank you for your presence, a beautiful testimony. Let us also learn this from the Lord Jesus: let us learn the cry of hope when the hour of ultimate trial arrives. Not to wound, but to entrust ourselves. Not to cry out against someone, but to open our hearts. If our cry is true, it can become the threshold of a new light, a new birth.

The Pope concluded the weekly audience by imparting a blessing to all those present, especially newlyweds, children, the sick, and young people.
