It was defended in 1987, almost four decades ago. At that time, few would have thought that its author would become pontiff.

After defending the work, he obtained a degree in Canon Law. This is the doctoral thesis of the then-Robert Prevost.

This academic work will be published in October. In it, he addresses the functions that a local prior of an Augustinian community must perform, not only at an administrative level, but also as a guide and pastor of a community.

Furthermore, it also includes reflections on what leadership in the Church should be like. Given that the author is the current Pope Leo XIV, this work is receiving considerable attention.

It will provide a glimpse into the main government plans the Pope has in mind.

It remains to be seen when Pope Leo XIV's first official document will be published. Everything points to it being towards the end of the year. What is clear is that it will be the roadmap for his pontificate.
