Pope Leo received a visit from John Elkann, chairman of Stellantis, the company that manufactures cars including Jeeps, Fiats, and Maseratis.

Elkann, who is also the Executive Chairman of Ferrari, gave the pope a mini car from the same company and the steering wheel of Leclerc, a Formula 1 driver.

A steering wheel. So this is really used, it has been used.
A whole thing? It's not connected.
No, no it's not connected. You'd need to connect it to a car.
So this is a real steering wheel from a real car.
This is the real. It was really used.
From a Ferrari.
Exactly.

However, Elkann was able to explain the two gifts' significance with time.

So this is to remind you of your passion for driving and to help you drive. And this is more for fun.
Thank you very much.

This is not the first time John Elkann has visited the Vatican. In 2021, he met with Pope Francis and gifted him a baby blue Fiat 500.
