Pope Leo XIV received a thoroughbred Arabian horse named Proton this morning as a gift.
The gift comes from a parishioner at St. Adalbert's Church in London. This gift might remind the faithful of a photo of the pontiff riding a horse while he was a missionary in Peru, a country he holds dear after living there for almost 40 years.
The donor, who is originally from Poland, intends for this gift to be auctioned off, with the proceeds going to help those most in need.
