Pope Leo XIV has sent five thousand antibiotics to the children of Gaza. With this gesture, the pontiff seeks to ease the suffering of thousands of children affected by the consequences of war.
The aid was coordinated by the Apostolic Almoner, and the medications have already begun to arrive at hospitals and pediatric centers in the Gaza Strip.
Cardinal Konrad Krajewski, Prefect of the Dicastery for the Service of Charity, explained during the presentation of the exhortation Dilexi te the importance of caring for the poor:

Even in the document, it is shown how, throughout the centuries, aid took different forms, but the Church always recognized the face of Jesus in the poor.
Almsgiving erases sins. I need a lot of almsgiving to erase my sins. If you need it too, come and we will help you.
Through the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Cardinal Pizzaballa, the medications were distributed to those in need.
The Pope’s aid also reached Ukraine. From Rome, several trucks carrying food, canned goods, and cleaning products departed for Kharkiv. Each package bears the inscription: “A gift from Pope Leo XIV to the people of Kharkiv.”
