Rome was chosen to host the Tenth International Diploma Program for Catholic Leaders, which drew 80 participants.

The mission of this Academy is to train leaders with political and social responsibilities, following the teachings of the Church.

Cardinal Pietro Parolin welcomed the participants and emphasized the idea that “we need leaders passionate about humanity who go out to meet those in need,” an idea also shared by the Academy's president.

We must seek light. In the midst of this world that Pope Francis has described as a change of era. Indeed, there is a change of era, and there is a new way of doing things and thinking about things, of speaking about what is happening. For this, there is the role of a new kind of leadership — a leadership with a vocation for service, selfless, that embraces truth, justice, and the common good. That is what it means to seek new leaders. But of course, all of this requires formation.

The International Academy of Catholic Leaders is currently present in 18 countries, and more than 40,000 students have already received training through its various programs.

This is a number they would like to continue expanding by creating local schools. In this way, the values they transmit can reach every corner of the planet.

Without a doubt, the joy of knowing that Christ has risen and that the Resurrection is real. That Christ dwells in the hearts of all people of good will. That hope is truly a hope that does not disappoint, as expressed in the beautiful motto of this year — the year 2025, the Jubilee Year. What the Catholic leader can contribute is, from the heart, the encounter with the poor, service to those most in need, the synodality of coming together to understand ourselves as a community in our challenges, to recognize our problems, and to find common solutions by listening to one another.

Listening, dialogue, and the importance of putting Christian thought into practice are some of the ideas that have been shared at these conferences held in Rome.
