On November 2nd, All Souls' Day, popes usually visit a cemetery in Rome to pray. In the past, Pope Francis went to the Laurentino Cemetery, the third largest in Rome.
Inside, there is the "Garden of Angels," where the bodies of deceased children and even those who were never born are laid to rest.

Now, in 2025, for the first All Souls' Day of Pope Leo XIV, the Vatican has announced that the Pope will preside over a Mass at 4:00 PM at the monumental entrance to the Verano Cemetery.
Furthermore, on November 3, the Vatican celebrates a special Mass in memory of all deceased cardinals, a Mass that this year will also include a memorial Mass for Pope Francis.
