Robert De Niro briefly met with Pope Leo XIV on Friday morning at the Apostolic Palace.
The previous evening, the actor had received the highest honorary distinction awarded by the Rome City Council.
His visit to the Italian capital was due to the inauguration of the new location of his luxury hotel chain, the Nobu Hotel.
