Pope Leo XIV said farewell to Turkey after an intense schedule during the first four days of his apostolic journey.
After visiting the Armenian Apostolic Church and celebrating the Eucharist at the Patriarchal Church of St. George on the feast of St. Andrew the Apostle, the pontiff leaves the country, delivering a message of peace as he heads to the second destination of his trip: Lebanon.
He is expected to land in the capital, Beirut, around 3:00 in the afternoon, Rome time, and will then proceed to the presidential palace, where he will meet with Joseph Aoun, President of the Republic of Lebanon, and the Diplomatic Corps.
There is great anticipation regarding the content of Pope Leo’s speech upon his arrival in the second country of his first apostolic journey.
