Recent months have been particularly difficult for Christians around the world. Christian persecution is reaching alarming levels in places like Syria, Nigeria, or Iran.
During the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, Pope Leo XIV emphasized the need of unification during the General Audience.
POPE LEO XIV
We ask the Lord to bestow the gift of his Spirit upon all the Churches scattered throughout the world, so that, through it, Christians may set aside division and form strong bonds of unity.
This year, the motto heading the week is “One Spirit, one hope.” Pope Leo also recalled in his words how the first sacrament of faith transforms us.
POPE LEO XIV
With the Sacrament of Baptism, God has established a covenant with each one of us, which we live out through our humanity.
It is a sure recipe for a happy life.
The Pope also continued with the reflection of his catechesis dedicated to the Dogmatic Constitution Dei Verbum, which belongs to the Second Vatican Council, on the “Revelation of God,” which is made real in the figure of Jesus.
