The ultimate liturgical innovation approved by Pope Leo XIV was a new formulary on creation. He himself debuted it in the papal gardens of Castel Gandolfo.
The Church lives from the liturgy. Although it's a widely used word, its meaning can go unnoticed.

It is the presence of Christ through and by means of signs, gestures, and words, which makes Him present so that, by encountering him, the entire life of the Church has meaning. Everything begins with the liturgy, everything reaches the liturgy.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church affirms that the Eucharist is the source and summit of Christian life. This celebration comprises many parts; the most important is the Eucharistic Prayer.

It is a prayer of thanksgiving but also of consecration, where the Holy Spirit transforms the bread and wine into the Body and Blood of Christ. Therefore, we would be at the very center of the celebration, and it would be the culminating prayer of the celebration.
For centuries, the prayer used was the first, the so-called Roman Canon. Three more were approved at the Second Vatican Council. The text of one of them is over a thousand years old.

The second prayer is a very ancient text, possibly from the third century, based on a work called the Apostolic Tradition attributed to Hippolytus of Rome.
Then a new, entirely new prayer was created, which is the third and adapted from Eastern rites.
However, there are other specific prayers that can only be used depending on the intention of the Mass. These are called "for various needs."
The liturgy is not closed, and in fact, over time, other Eucharistic prayers could be included, subject to approval by the Pope.
