Within the institutions of the Church, identity must be clear and charism must be well defined.

This was the reflection offered by Pope Leo XIV during a meeting with members of the general assemblies of Regnum Christi.

POPE LEO XIV
Today, more than ever, it is necessary to know who we are, if we want to engage in authentic dialogue with society without being absorbed or made uniform. In order to evangelize the contexts in which you live — the specific purpose of your vocation — it is therefore essential that you define your identity with ever greater clarity.

During the general assembly, the Legionaries of Christ, the consecrated women, and the consecrated lay members of Regnum Christi Order reflected on their future together.

The Pope addressed them on three points: charism, communion, and governance.

POPE LEO XIV
Community discernment is the privileged place where shared decisions can mature, decisions capable of generating communion and co-responsibility.

Regarding the way of governing, the Pope cited the 2017 document from what is now the Dicastery for Consecrated Life, entitled “New Wine in New Wineskins.” He told them not to be afraid to experiment with new models of governance and ways of exercising authority that strengthen the sense of belonging of the members of each institution.
