Pope Leo XIV wrote a letter back to a woman who was concerned about gender based violence.
In his reponse, he revealed to the woman that more recently there is a...
...dangerous mindset that infects relationships, producing only selfishness, prejudice, discrimination, and a deire to dominate.
The Pope spoke about this same issue during the Sunday Angelus, which fell on the same day as International Women's Day.
POPE LEO XIV
Today, March 8, is International Women's Day. Let us renew our commitment--one that for us Christians is rooted in the Gospel—to recognizing the equal dignity of men and women. Unfortunately, since childhood, many women are discriminated against and suffer various forms of violence. My solidarity and my prayers go out to them in a special way.
Pope Leo has spoken out against violence toward women on two other occasions: on June 8th during the Pentecost Mass, and again on November 25, the international day dedicated to this issue.
