On the day of the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord, Pope Leo XIV continued his weekly catechesis during the general audience in a packed St. Peter’s Square.
For several weeks now, this gathering has focused on the famous document of the Second Vatican Council, Lumen Gentium, which explains exactly what the Church is, and the hierarchical dimension was the particular theme of this audience.
POPE LEO XIV
Dear sisters and dear brothers, let us pray to the Lord that He may send to His Church ministers who are ardent in evangelical charity, devoted to the good of all the baptized, and courageous missionaries in every part of the world.
In order to understand this hierarchical dimension is like, one must first understand the history of the apostles, who received the original grace to begin this mission.
POPE LEO XIV
The hierarchical structure is not a merely human invention, but a divine institution,
intended to perpetuate the mission given by Christ to the apostles until the end of time.
In Poland, the celebration of the Day of the Sanctity of Life is also taking place, something the Pope did not hesitate to recall.
POPE LEO XIV
In a time marked by the madness of war, it is important to defend life from conception to its natural end.
Just days before the beginning of the most joyous Christian celebration, Pope Leo XIV is already preparing for the upcoming events in which he will participate: his next trip to Monaco on March 28 and Palm Sunday.
