(ONLY VIDEO) Around 5:45pm, all 133 electoral cardinals of the Catholic church were sworn into secrecy and lined the Sistine Chapel.
Once the words “Extra Omnes!” (Everyone out!) were announced by Archbishop Diego Ravelli, the Vatican's master of ceremonies, all non-electors were required to leave the chapel. The wooden doors of the chapel slammed shut, and a shroud of silence covered the Sistine Chapel.
The conclave to elect the 267th Pope of the Catholic Church had officially begun.
