(VIDEO ONLY): Just as he did at the tomb of Pope Francis, Pope Leo XIV prayed before the tombs of his predecessors—including John Paul II, Benedict XVI, Paul VI, and Pius XII.
He also paused in a chapel that featured an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
This took place in the Vatican Grottoes, beneath St. Peter’s Basilica, where he also celebrated Mass at the tomb of St. Peter.
Among those present were several Augustinian friars, as well as his brother, John Prevost.
