The Jubilee of Marian Spirituality brought thousands of faithful to St. Peter’s Square, where they joined in the first rosary convened by Pope Leo XIV to pray for peace.
This moment also featured a special guest: the Virgin of Fatima. The original image had been brought from her sanctuary in Portugal to the Vatican.

Dear brothers and sisters, we have gathered in prayer tonight together with Mary, the Mother of Jesus, just as the first Church of Jerusalem once did. United, steadfast, and of one heart, we continue to intercede for peace, the gift of God that must become both our goal and our shared commitment.
The pope had called this special rosary to pray for peace throughout the world.

Disarm the hand, and even before that, the heart. As I have said on other occasions, peace is disarmed and disarming. It is not deterrence but fraternity; not an ultimatum but dialogue. It will not come as the result of victory over an enemy, but as the fruit of sowing justice and courageous forgiveness.
The moment of prayer concluded with Eucharistic adoration and the blessing imparted by the pontiff.
