Leo XIV was at the tourist port of Ostia to visit the Med25 Bel Espoir, the boat that has been sailing through Mediterranean ports for months with 25 young people of different nationalities and religions on board.
Present was Cardinal Aveline, Archbishop of Marseille, where the initiative began. The Pope called for giving “signs of hope” amid hatred, violence and division.
