Everything is ready in the Principality of Monaco to experience a historic day: for the first time ever, the Roman Pontiff will visit their country—an exceptional event featuring an intense spiritual and pastoral agenda.

The people of Monaco have already prepared everything for the Pope to discover the most emblematic places and feel at home. They have even decorated shop windows with the colors of the Vatican—white and yellow.

He is scheduled to land at 9:00 a.m. at Monaco’s heliport. Yes, this time, instead of traveling by plane, Pope Leo will travel by helicopter. The journey will cover about 500 kilometers, equating to roughly two hours of flight time.

The official welcome ceremony will take place at the Prince’s Palace, the House of Grimaldi, where the Pontiff will be received by Prince Albert. After, he will visit the Cathedral of Our Lady Immaculate, followed by one of the most significant moments: meeting with young people and catechumens at the Church of Saint Devota, patron saint of Monaco.

The final highlight of the day will be the celebration of Mass at 3:30 p.m. at the Louis II Stadium, the largest gathering of the day, with nearly 19,000 people estimated to attend.

It will be an intense day, full of emotion—one that certainly merits the creation of a special stamp by the pontiff to mark his first visit to one of the only two countries, along with Liechtenstein, that still maintain a Catholic monarchy.
