During the general audience in St. Peter’s Square, Pope Leo XIV welcomed hundreds of pilgrims and faithful from around the world.
The pope's message focused on the importance of practicing holiness in daily life. He highlighted the example of those who dedicate themselves to God through consecrated life.
POPE LEO XIV
Poverty expresses total trust in Providence, obedience is modeled by Christ’s self-giving offered to the Father, and chastity is the offering of a whole and pure heart in love, dedicated to the service to God and His Church.
In Pope Leo’s greeting to the Portuguese pilgrims, he raised up the example of the newly canonized Saint Carlo Acutis to inspire the crowd.
POPE LEO XIV
Saint Carlo Acutis said:“In front of the sun, one gets a tan. In front of the Eucharist, one becomes holy!” So go to the Risen Jesus and befriend Him.
The pope then encouraged everyone to bring their faith back into their communities, reminding them that holiness is built on a daily basis through small acts of generosity and commitment.
