At 9 p.m., Leo XIV arrived at the Stade de France in an open-top car, driving around the stadium in front of the 80,000 people who were waiting for him. After being welcomed by the Bishop of Saint-Denis, the vigil began on a stage specially prepared to transform the stadium into a vast space for prayer.
One of the first images was that of 2,500 voices singing together.
They are young people between the ages of 18 and 35, brought together by Ecclesia Cantic and accompanied by an orchestra and a collective of worship artists.
