July 24, 2014. Pope Francis expressed his 'heartfelt condolences' to the families of victims of a Taiwanese plane crash, which killed at least 47 people. The Pope said he was praying for everyone 'affected by this tragedy.' Secretary of State Pietro Parolin sent the telegram, on behalf of Pope Francis, to the archbishop of Taipei, Msgr. John Hung Shan-chuan.
