Pope Francis joined in the choir that sang “la Guadalupana,” the traditional song in honor of the Empress of the Americas.

In front of an image of the Tepeyac canvas installed in St. Peter's Basilica, the pope wanted to honor Our Lady of Guadalupe on her day.

For the sixth consecutive year, Pope Francis presided over this Mass, which is usually attended by hundreds of Mexican pilgrims. Many arrive from Mexico to celebrate their patron's feast in the Eternal City with this special ceremony.
